SHARON SKIDMORE STERN, MSW, LCSW DIRECTOR, FAMILYFORWARD DEVELOPMENTAL TRAUMA CENTER The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics: Creating Neurobiologically Sensitive Interventions in Complex Trauma Cases With over 20 years of experience in clinical and administrative work with children and families, Sharon Skidmore Stern will build on key concepts of neurodevelopment, the impact early trauma and/or neglect can have, and how this understanding can change the way we approach therapeutic work with the most vulnerable children and families.

The Safety of Our Youth and Communities James Clark spent years leading the Community Outreach department at Better Family Life. He joins us to discuss his perspective and boots-on-the-ground approach to addressing the region's increasing level of violence targeting children, what's currently working, and what we-- as individuals, service providers, and a community-- can do to heal our children and families.
SARAH CALDERA WIMMER, LMSW MANAGER OF MENTAL HEALTH INTEGRATION AT LIFEWISE STL SARA JOHNSON-CARDONA, LCSW SAINT LOUIS CRISIS NURSERY’S LATINX PROGRAM DIRECTOR These speakers will discuss effective ways to engage and provide mental health services to Latinx parents, explore how to partner with other agencies to make services more accessible to this under-served population, and provide brief guidelines to becoming a culturally responsive provider for this population.
RACHEL CROWE, MSW, LCSW CLINICAL SUPERVISOR, MIRIAM LEARNING CENTER Care for Caregivers in times of Community Crisis During Rachel’s near 20 years with the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery, she has held a wide variety of positions. Most recently, she served as the Sr. Professional Instructor overseeing the SLCN's Student Internship Program for up to 25 students per semester. Since August 2019, Rachel has also served as the Full-Time Clinical Supervisor for Miriam Learning Center supervising the staff and program implementation in the Clinical Counseling, Enrichment, Young Adult, and Behavior Aide Programs. These programs provide therapeutic and behavioral supports to students aged Pre-K through early adulthood in public, private, and parochial schools across the Greater Metropolitan Area.
